Her parents had been told she had a rare neurological disease.

Sofia had been part of the same research program.
When Noah and the Vale family arrived, Sofia refused to meet them.
She hated doctors.
She hated lawyers.
She hated rich people.
Noah understood.
So he went alone.
He sat outside her house.
He didn't knock.
After twenty minutes, Sofia opened the door.
“Why are you here?”
“To tell you something.”
“What?”
“You were lied to.”
Sofia laughed bitterly.
“Everyone says that.”
Noah handed her a folder.
“I’m not asking you to trust me.”
She looked at him.
“Then what do you want?”
“Nothing.”
That answer made her suspicious.
Noah stood.
“You can read it or burn it.”
Then he walked away.
