Chapter 36 - THE SECOND BETRAYALThe man was named Adrian Bell.
Samuel's younger brother.
Mara's uncle.
Noah's great-uncle.
He had been the original founder of the Black Circle.
The organization had begun as a research group.
Its original purpose had been to develop treatments for neurological injuries.
But Adrian had changed it.
He believed the technology should belong only to those who could afford it.
Mara had opposed him.
Samuel had helped her escape.
Richard had unknowingly funded the organization.
And Vivian had later become Adrian's most powerful ally.
Noah stared at him.
“You caused the accident.”
Adrian shook his head.
“No.”
“Then who did?”
Adrian smiled.
“Your mother.”
Noah froze.
Adrian explained.
Mara had staged the accident herself.
She had created the illusion that the twins had been injured so she could remove them from the research program.
But the plan had failed.
Someone had interfered.
The injections had already been administered.
The crash had become real.
Noah whispered:
“She tried to save them.”
May you like
Adrian nodded.
“And she succeeded.”
