The first warning arrived at midnight.
Every screen in the Vale mansion turned on.
A black symbol appeared.
Then a message:
RETURN THE RESEARCH.
Richard ordered the security team to shut down the system.
But the message remained.
Another sentence appeared.
OR THE THIRTY-SEVEN WILL DISAPPEAR AGAIN.
Catherine looked at Noah.
“We need to protect them.”
Noah nodded.
The survivors were moved to secure locations.
But one family never arrived.
Sofia was missing.
Her parents were found unconscious at home.
There was no sign of her.
Only a black circle drawn on the wall.
Noah stared at it.
“She was taken because of me.”
Catherine shook her head.
“No.”
Noah looked at her.
“They took her because they are afraid.”
“Afraid of what?”
