The password was a date.
Noah tried Mara's birthday.

He tried the twins' birthday.

Then Ava whispered:
“Try the day we met.”
Noah looked at her.
“You remember?”
Ava nodded.
“Because your mother told me to remember it.”
Noah typed the date.
The file opened.
Inside were four medical profiles.
The names had been removed.
But the photographs remained.
Noah.
Ethan.
Eliza.
Ava.
The file contained one sentence:
THE FOUR CHILDREN ARE NOT THE EXPERIMENT.
Noah stared at the screen.
Then another sentence appeared.
THEY ARE THE KEY.
Catherine whispered:
“To what?”
The final line appeared.
TO THE ORIGINAL HUMAN REPAIR PROTOCOL.
Noah looked at Ava.
“What does that mean?”
Ava shook her head.
