Chapter 46 - THE WHITE STARNoah told Catherine.
She immediately contacted the investigators.
The symbol had appeared in several old files.
All connected to children born with the same rare genetic marker.
But there was something strange.
The White Star had never conducted experiments.
It had done something else.
It had protected children from dangerous organizations.
Mara had been a member.
Samuel had been a member.
And Richard's father had once been a member.
Noah stared at the files.
“So my mother wasn't only running from them.”
Catherine nodded.
“She was working against them.”
Noah realized the truth.
Mara had not disappeared because she was weak.
She had disappeared because she had been fighting a secret war.
And she had been protecting Noah all along.
The final file contained one name.
A woman who had helped Mara escape.
A woman who was still alive.

Her name was Elena Ward.
And she lived less than an hour away.
