“Did you ever look for me?”
Richard nodded.
“Every year.”
“Then why did you never find me?”
Richard looked at the floor.
“Because every time I got close, someone moved you.”
Noah understood.
Vivian.
The company.
The Black Circle.
Someone had been controlling the information.
Richard had not been innocent.
But he had not known the whole truth either.
Noah turned away.
“I still hate what you did.”
Richard nodded.
“I know.”
“But I don't hate you.”
Richard looked up.
For the first time, Noah had given him something money could never buy.
A possibility.
