Chapter 51 - THE GIRL AT THE GATEThree months after the opening of the Mara Bell Center, a girl appeared at the gate.

She was about seventeen years old.
She wore a gray hoodie and carried a worn backpack.
The security guard told her to leave.
But she refused.
“I need to see Noah Bell.”
The guard asked:
“Do you have an appointment?”
The girl shook her head.
“No.”
“Then you can’t come in.”
She reached into her backpack.
Then pulled out a small silver pendant.
The symbol on it was a white star.
The guard immediately contacted Catherine.
When Noah arrived, the girl looked at him.
For several seconds, neither of them spoke.
Then she said:
“My name is Ava.”
Noah looked at the pendant.
“Where did you get that?”
Ava answered:
“Your mother gave it to me.”
Noah froze.
“My mother died twelve years ago.”
Ava looked down.
“I know.”

Then she added:
“But she gave it to me eight years ago.”
