The night before Clara died, she had called him.
She sounded terrified.

“Don't come home.”
He hadn't listened.
But when he arrived, Clara was gone.
He had assumed she was at the hospital.
Now he understood.
She had been meeting someone.
Ethan found the location from Clara's old phone records.
An abandoned railway station.
They went there.
Inside an old storage room, they found a hidden box.
Photographs.
Audio recordings.
And a handwritten confession.
Clara had recorded everything.
Her voice came through the old recorder.
“Mark, if you're hearing this, I didn't trust anyone except Ethan.”
Mark closed his eyes.
Clara continued.
“Your mother is not the mastermind.”
Mark opened his eyes.
