Chapter 2 - The Name She Never Told HimDetective Miller arrived less than forty minutes later.

He read Clara’s letter twice.
Then a third time.
“This changes the investigation,” he said.
Mark stood beside the fireplace.
“Victoria already confessed.”
“Victoria confessed to poisoning Clara,” Miller replied. “But she may not have acted alone.”
Sarah frowned.
“Clara said there was someone inside the company.”
Miller nodded.
“Exactly.”
He placed the letter inside an evidence sleeve.
“Did Clara ever mention being afraid of anyone at Vance Logistics?”
Mark shook his head.
“She was always cautious, but she never told me she suspected anyone.”
Miller looked at him.
“Think carefully.”
Mark closed his eyes.
Then a memory surfaced.
Six months before Clara died, she had come home late.
She had looked frightened.
Mark had asked her what happened.
She had only said:
“Someone has been moving money without authorization.”
He had assumed it was a corporate accounting problem.
Now his stomach tightened.
“Arthur,” Mark whispered.
Sarah looked confused.
“Your lawyer?”
Mark nodded.
“Arthur handled Clara’s estate documents.”
Detective Miller immediately became serious.
“Call him.”
Mark reached for his phone.
Before he could dial, the phone rang.
Arthur was calling him.
Mark answered.
Arthur's voice was unusually quiet.
“Mark…”
“What?”
“There’s something you need to know.”

A pause.
“I found Clara’s second will.”
