Chapter 15 - The Woman in Room 214Rebecca was waiting in Room 214.
She looked remarkably like Clara.
Same eyes.
Same smile.
Same small scar near the eyebrow.
Mark stopped in the doorway.
For a moment, he thought he was seeing a ghost.
Rebecca looked at him.
“You're Mark.”
“Yes.”
“You look exactly like your father.”
Mark's voice was barely audible.
“Who are you?”
Rebecca looked down.
“Clara's younger sister.”
“Why did she hide you?”
“Because Eleanor wanted me dead.”
Mark sat down.
Rebecca told him everything.
She had discovered that Eleanor had been laundering money through the family foundation.
She had tried to expose her.
Eleanor retaliated.
Rebecca disappeared.
Clara eventually found her.
Together, they created a plan.
But Clara died before they could finish it.
Rebecca reached beneath her mattress.
She pulled out a small flash drive.
“This contains everything.”
Mark stared at it.
“What is it?”
“The original evidence.”
“Evidence of what?”
Rebecca looked directly at him.
“Who ordered Clara's murder.”
Mark's heart pounded.
“Eleanor?”
Rebecca shook her head.
“No.”
“Then who?”

“The person who ordered Clara's death is still inside your company.”
