Chapter 25 - The Funeral PhotographJonathan's death became national news.
But Mark couldn't focus on the headlines.
He was staring at an old photograph from Jonathan's funeral.
Something was wrong.
There was a woman standing behind the coffin.
Mark zoomed in.
Eleanor.
But Eleanor supposedly wasn't there.
She had supposedly been dead.
Arthur looked over his shoulder.
“That's impossible.”
Mark shook his head.
“No.”
He pointed to another figure.
“That man.”
Arthur went pale.
“That's your father.”
Mark stared.
The photograph had been taken twenty years earlier.
Yet both men appeared alive.
Then Mark noticed the date.
The photograph wasn't from the funeral.
It was taken three days before his father's supposed death.
