Chapter 24 - DANIEL CHO’S LOCKED DOORThe lawyer escaped.
But Daniel had already found the answer.
The documents did not contain financial records.
They contained names.
Every person involved in the Meridian Circle.
Every family.
Every company.
Every person who had helped hide the truth.
The list was enormous.
But one name was missing.
Margaret Vale.
I looked at Daniel.
“Why isn't she on the list?”
He was silent.
Then he admitted something.
He had known about the Meridian Circle for years.
He had been investigating it.
The Whitmore Hotel had been used for meetings.
The wedding had not been the first time Margaret had used the hotel.
Daniel had been collecting evidence.
The CCTV backup had been created specifically because he suspected someone was manipulating the system.
I stared at him.
“You knew this could happen.”
“I suspected.”
“And you let the wedding continue?”
“I didn't know Sophie would be targeted.”
He looked down.
“I am sorry.”
Everyone had a reason.
Everyone had an explanation.
But Sophie had still been the one who got hurt.
I looked at Daniel.
“Then help me finish this.”
May you like
He nodded.
“I will.”
