Daniel found the entrance behind an old service elevator.
Inside were servers.
Files.
And a recording system.
The entire wedding had been monitored.
Not just by the hotel.
By someone else.
There were cameras in the bridal suite.
The ballroom.
The hallway.
And the room where Sophie had been accused.
I felt sick.
Someone had been collecting evidence.
But why?
Daniel found a folder.
The name on it was:
MOTHER AND CHILD — FINAL STAGE.
Inside were recordings of me and Sophie.
Our conversations.
Our routines.
Our lives.
The file had been created three years earlier.
I stared at the screen.
“They were watching us.”
Daniel nodded.
Then he opened another folder.
It contained a photograph of Margaret Vale.
She was standing beside a young man.
I recognized him immediately.
He had attended the wedding.
He had spoken to Preston.
And he had been sitting only three tables away from Sophie.
