The following morning at nine o'clock, the New Haven District Court was packed with reporters and legal observers.
Chloe stood at the defense table wearing a dark grey prison jumpsuit, her dark hair messy and unstyled.
Her high-priced defense attorney stood beside her, presenting a plea for immediate release on personal recognizance.
"Your Honor, my client is a respectable citizen with zero criminal history," the attorney argued smoothly.
Prosecutor Vance stepped up to the podium, plugging an iPad into the courtroom projection system.
Security footage from Ethan's living room played on the high-definition screens facing the judge and jury pool.
The high-resolution video clearly showed Chloe angrily kicking Clara in her pregnant stomach without provocation.
Gasps of horror erupted throughout the gallery, causing several spectators to cover their mouths in shock.
"Bail is set at two million dollars cash. The defendant will remain in custody," Judge Miller ruled, slamming his gavel.
