Chapter 11 - NAMING THE SON
Three days later, Clara was discharged from the ICU and moved to a comfortable private recovery suite.
Ethan brought their infant son from the neonatal unit, placing him gently into Clara's waiting arms.
"He looks so much like you, Ethan," Clara smiled, tracing the baby's tiny soft cheek with her index finger.
"He has your courage, Clara," Ethan replied softly, sitting on the edge of her bed and wrapping his arm around her.
"What should we name him?" Clara asked, looking up into her husband's warm, devoted eyes.
"Leo... Leo Sterling," Ethan decided, smiling as the baby made a tiny squeaking sound in his sleep.
"Leo... it means lion," Clara murmured softly. "It's perfect for our little survivor."
Outside the hospital window, the sun shone brightly over the green Connecticut landscape.
Their home had been shattered by betrayal, but together, they were building an unshakeable new foundation.
