Chapter 8 - TOXIC FAMILY CONFRONTATION
Two hours later, Clara was transferred to a private ICU room, equipped with advanced monitoring systems.
Ethan sat beside her bed, holding her left hand while their newborn son slept in an incubator nearby.
The door clicked open, and Eleanor Miller slipped into the room, her designer handbag tucked tightly under her arm.
"Get out, Eleanor," Ethan commanded without turning his head to look at her.
"Ethan, please... we need to talk about Chloe's bail hearing tomorrow morning," Eleanor pleaded in a harsh whisper.
"My wife is hooked up to blood transfusions because of your spoiled, psychopathic daughter," Ethan hissed, turning around.
"Chloe was jealous! You know she always wanted the life you gave Clara!" Eleanor argued insensitively.
"That gives her the right to kick a pregnant woman?!" Ethan barked, standing up to block Eleanor from approaching Clara.
"If you don't drop the charges, Marcus will cut Clara out of the family inheritance entirely!" Eleanor threatened.
