Chapter 20 - THE ANCIENT LAND DEED

A year after the trial, Ethan received a leather-bound parcel sent from his family’s ancestral estate in Virginia.

The package contained historic land deeds and letters dating back to the American Revolutionary War.

Ethan opened the documents in his study, discovering his great-great-grandfather had built a historic homestead.

"Look at this, Clara... our family owned five hundred acres along the Potomac River in 1780," Ethan revealed.

"Is the historic homestead still standing?" Clara asked, leaning over his shoulder to read the vintage calligraphy.

"According to these documents, the estate is preserved under a national heritage trust," Ethan explained.

They decided to fly to Virginia for the weekend to inspect the historic family property with baby Leo.

Upon arrival, they were greeted by a grand red-brick mansion surrounded by ancient oak trees and rolling green hills.

An old 13-star American flag hung preserved behind protective glass inside the grand foyer.

"This is where your roots lie, Leo," Ethan said gently, carrying his toddler son through the historic halls.
