She could not sleep.
She kept thinking about Marcus.

Eleanor called her private investigator.
“Find everything about Marcus.”
The investigator began searching.
A few hours later, he called back.
“Mrs. Hayes, you need to see this.”
Eleanor opened the file.
Marcus had worked for her late husband.
For years.
He had handled several financial accounts.
Including the accounts connected to the company scandal.
Eleanor stared at the documents.
Marcus had not been a random relative.
He had been part of the family.
And he had disappeared shortly after Anna vanished.
Then another file appeared.
A photograph.
Marcus standing beside Eleanor's late husband.
And between them…
Was a third man.
Eleanor recognized him immediately.
Her former lawyer.
The man who had told her Anna was dead.
