Chapter 2 - THE GOLDEN HEARTThe traffic light turned green.

But Eleanor did not move.
Her eyes remained fixed on the necklace.
The golden heart had a tiny mark engraved on it.
A small flower.
Eleanor knew that mark.
She had chosen it herself.
Twenty years earlier, she had given the necklace to her baby daughter.
Then the child disappeared.
Eleanor had searched everywhere.
Hospitals.
Orphanages.
Police stations.
Private investigators.
But she had found nothing.
Until now.
“Stop the car,” Eleanor whispered.
The driver looked confused.
“Ma'am?”
“Stop the car.”
The vehicle pulled to the side of the road.
Eleanor quickly opened the door.
Lily was standing a few meters away.
She was holding a bouquet of roses.
Eleanor slowly approached her.
“Where did you get that necklace?”
Lily immediately touched the golden heart.
“My mother gave it to me.”
Eleanor's heart began beating faster.
“Your mother?”
Lily nodded.
“Why?”
The girl looked at her carefully.
“She said it belonged to me.”
Eleanor stared at the necklace.
Then she asked:
“What is your mother's name?”
Lily hesitated.
And before she could answer…
A man suddenly shouted from across the street.
“Lily!”

The girl turned around.
Her face immediately changed.
