Chapter 13 - THE HIDDEN RECORDINGEleanor made copies of everything.
Then she hid a recording device inside the folder.
She contacted the kidnappers.
“I have the documents.”
A location was sent.
An abandoned warehouse near the river.
Eleanor arrived alone.
At least, that was what the kidnappers believed.
Inside the warehouse, Marcus was waiting.
Anna and Lily were sitting nearby.
They were frightened.
But unharmed.
Eleanor slowly walked forward.
“Let them go.”
Marcus smiled.
“You always were emotional.”
Eleanor looked at him.
“You destroyed my family.”
Marcus laughed.
“Your family destroyed itself.”
“You stole millions.”
“I took what I deserved.”
Eleanor held up the folder.
“Here are the documents.”
Marcus took them.
He opened the folder.
Then his smile disappeared.
The pages contained false information.
Marcus looked at Eleanor.
“Where are the originals?”
Eleanor smiled.
“Somewhere you will never find them.”
Marcus suddenly became furious.
But then a voice echoed through the warehouse.
“Actually…”
