Chapter 18 - THE WOMAN IN THE OLD PHOTOGRAPHYears later, Eleanor found an old photograph.

It showed her and Anna.
Anna was only a child.
The golden heart necklace hung around her neck.
Eleanor looked at the photograph for a long time.
Then Lily walked into the room.
“Who is that?”
“Your mother.”
“She looks young.”
Eleanor smiled.
“She was.”
Lily looked at the necklace around her own neck.
It had been repaired.
The small flower was still visible.
“Was this always mine?”
Eleanor shook her head.
“No.”
“It belonged to your mother first.”
Lily smiled.
“Then it belongs to our family.”
Eleanor nodded.
“Yes.”
Lily looked at the photograph.
“Will you take a picture with me?”
Eleanor smiled.
“Of course.”
They stood together.
Three generations.
A grandmother.
A mother.
A daughter.
