Eleanor decided to help her mother open a small flower shop.
Not a luxurious store.
Not a business built for profit.
A warm place.
A place where anyone could buy flowers.
The shop was named:
THE GOLDEN HEART.
The golden heart necklace became the symbol.
Lily helped choose the flowers.
Anna managed the store.
Eleanor visited every morning.
At the entrance was a small sign:
EVERY FLOWER HAS A STORY.
Lily loved that sentence.
She said every flower reminded her of someone.
Roses reminded her of courage.
Sunflowers reminded her of hope.
And white lilies reminded her of her mother.
One day, a little girl stopped outside the shop.
She was selling flowers on the sidewalk.
Lily looked at her.
Then she opened the door.
“Come inside.”
The girl looked nervous.
