Chapter 4 - THE PHOTOGRAPHEleanor stared at Lily.

“Anna?”
Lily nodded.
“My mother.”
Eleanor's hands began to shake.
She took out her phone.
Then opened an old photograph.
It showed a young woman.
She was smiling beside Eleanor.
The woman had long brown hair.
Bright eyes.
And a small flower-shaped birthmark near her wrist.
Eleanor turned the phone toward Lily.
“Do you know her?”
Lily looked at the photograph.
Her eyes widened.
“That's my mother.”
Eleanor could barely speak.
“Where is she?”
Lily looked down.
“She is sick.”
“How sick?”
The girl lowered her voice.
“She can't get out of bed.”
Eleanor looked at the child.
“Where do you live?”
Lily hesitated.
Marcus immediately stepped forward.
“She doesn't need to tell you.”
Eleanor looked at him.
“Why not?”
Marcus said nothing.
Lily suddenly reached into her pocket.
She pulled out a small piece of paper.
“My mother told me to give this to someone who knows the golden heart.”
Eleanor took it.
There were only four words written on the paper.
FIND MY MOTHER, ELEANOR.
Eleanor's face turned pale.
May you like
Because no one had called her that name in twenty years.
