Chapter 46 - THE NAME OF THE WOMAN WHO DIEDMy mother finally agreed to meet me.

We met in a small café outside the city.
She looked exhausted.
Older than she had the night before.
I sat across from her.
“Tell me everything.”
She stared at her coffee.
“Eleanor Vale was my sister.”
I knew my mother had one sister.
But I had been told she died before I was born.
“What does she have to do with the money?”
My mother took a deep breath.
“She didn't die.”
I stared at her.
“What?”
“She disappeared.”
My mother explained that Eleanor had discovered financial crimes inside Hart Industries.
She had tried to expose them.
Then she vanished.
My father claimed she had stolen money and fled.
But my mother never believed him.
Years later, Eleanor contacted her.
She had evidence.
But before she could return home…
She disappeared again.
My mother looked at me.
“The money was never stolen.”
“Then where did it go?”
She whispered:
“Into a trust.”
“For whom?”

My mother looked terrified.
“For Sophie.”
