Chapter 26 - The Quiet SnowfallAfter the gala concluded and the last guests had departed into the snowy night, Abraham and Lily sat together on the wide cedar porch wrapped in heavy wool blankets, drinking hot spiced cider as the gentle snow fell across the lake.

The night was perfectly still, broken only by the soft crackle of the dying embers in the living room fireplace and the distant hoot of an owl in the pines.

"Do you ever think about the old days, Dad?" Lily asked quietly, resting her head against his shoulder.

"Only to remember how far we've traveled," Abraham answered, wrapping his arm securely around her. "Every storm we survived brought us to this exact moment. And I wouldn't trade a single note of our song."

Lily smiled, watching the snowflakes dance through the amber light spilling from the French doors. "What's our next movement, maestro?"

Abraham looked out across the peaceful, glittering expanse of Mirror Lake toward the endless horizon.

"There are no more battles to fight, sweetheart," Abraham whispered softly, pressing a kiss to her temple. "Only life, peace, and music."
