Chapter 18 - The ReunionThe digital biometric lock hissed, and the heavy steel door swung slowly open into the dim, austere room.

Standing near an old, upright piano in the corner was Lily Yates. At twenty-six, she looked far too frail—her skin pale from years without natural sunlight, her dark hair hanging loosely around her shoulders, and her eyes wide with a mixture of profound shock and long-denied hope.

For a terrifying second, she stared at Abraham as if he were a ghost conjured by her own imagination.

"Dad?" she whispered, taking a trembling step forward. "Is it... is it really you? Or am I dreaming again?"

Abraham didn't wait another second. He dropped his cane to the floor, crossed the room in two massive strides, and swept his daughter into his arms, pulling her tightly against his chest as he buried his face in her hair.

"It's me, Lily. I'm real, and I'm never leaving you again," Abraham sobbed openly, holding her as she began to weep—not with fear, but with the overwhelming, long-awaited flood of safety.

"They told me you died in prison, Dad," Lily sobbed into his shoulder, her small hands gripping the fabric of his coat as if she were afraid he would vanish into smoke. "They told me nobody was ever coming back for me."

"They lied to both of us," Abraham murmured, pressing a fierce kiss to her forehead. "Every single person who put you in this room, every monster who signed your name away—they are going to pay for every single day you spent in the dark."

Marcus stood quietly by the doorway, looking away to wipe a stray tear from his own eye before turning back to secure the medical extraction protocol.
