Chapter 18 - NOAH'S GRADUATIONTen years passed.

Noah stood on the stage at his elementary school graduation.
He searched the crowd.
There they were.
His mother.
And his father.
Sitting side by side.
Not because they had remarried.
Not because the past had magically disappeared.
But because they had learned respect.
When Noah finished his speech, he ran into their arms.
“Did you hear me?”
“I heard every word,” Sophia said.
“You were amazing,” Ethan added.
That evening, Noah played in the garden.
Ethan turned toward Sophia.
“I know I destroyed us.”
She remained silent.
“I spent years hoping you might love me again.”
Sophia looked at him.
“But now?”
“Now I only hope you live happily.”
“With or without me.”
Sophia studied his face.
For the first time, she believed him completely.
Then she reached into her purse.
Ethan froze.
She pulled out the old wedding ring.
The ring she had thrown onto the table ten years ago.
“I kept it.”
“Why?”
“Not because I forgot.”
“Not because I forgave you immediately.”
She looked toward Noah.
“But because I wanted to remember that people can change.”
Ethan's eyes filled with tears.
Sophia smiled.
“And maybe…”
She paused.
May you like
“After all these years…”
“We can start again.”
