He was in his sixties.
Elegant.
Calm.
It was Charles' former lawyer.
The man who had disappeared.
Charles stared at him.
“Martin.”
Martin smiled.
“You finally found the truth.”
Anna stepped in front of Lily.
Martin looked at the girl.
“She is the reason everything became complicated.”
Charles moved forward.
“Stay away from my family.”
Martin laughed softly.
“Your family?”
He looked around the room.
“You abandoned your daughter.”
Charles' expression changed.
Martin continued.
“You believed every lie I told you.”
Anna looked at her father.
Charles said nothing.
Martin had chosen the one truth that hurt the most.
But then Charles took out his phone.
“You are being recorded.”
Martin's smile disappeared.
Charles had known the man would come.
He had wanted him to confess.
The security team entered from behind.
Martin looked around.
For the first time, he realized he was trapped.
Charles looked at him.
“Tell me who ordered you.”
Martin remained silent.
Then he looked toward the door.
