Chapter 8 - WHEN TWO WORLDS COLLIDEThe morning of the shareholder meeting arrived. The financial capital of Ravenport was abuzz with rumors. Richard Vance had called for an absolute vote to declare Victoria incapacitated and assume full executive control of Vance Enterprises.
Inside the grand boardroom on the 50th floor of the Vance Tower, forty board members and major investors were gathered. Richard sat at the head of the polished oak table, a triumphant smirk plastered on his face.
"Ladies and gentlemen," Richard announced, standing up and adjusting his silk tie. "It is with a heavy heart that I announce my niece, Victoria, is officially unfit to handle the pressures of this company. Due to recent emotional instability and tragic disappearance, we must vote today to transfer complete control to my management group."
"I wouldn't sign those papers just yet, Uncle Richard," a crisp, powerful voice cut through the room.
The heavy double doors of the boardroom swung open.
Victoria Vance walked in, wearing a tailored crimson suit, her eyes blazing with cold determination. Her hair was styled perfectly, and her stride radiated unquestionable authority.
Beside her walked Ethan Carter, dressed in a sharp black suit provided by Victoria’s tailor. Though he felt out of place in the lavish corporate setting, his imposing presence and sharp gaze instantly intimidated the room.
Richard’s face drained of all color. "Victoria?! You... you're supposed to be—"
"Dead?" Victoria interjected, stepping up to the foot of the table. "I'm sorry to disappoint you, Richard. But I'm very much alive, and I brought gifts for the board."
Julian stepped forward, slamming thick files of financial audits onto the table in front of every board member.

"These documents contain full digital proof that Richard Vance diverted forty million dollars from our medical research division into offshore accounts," Victoria announced coldly. "And he used those funds to hire mercenaries to attempt my assassination last night."
Panic exploded in the boardroom. Board members began shouting, flicking through the pages of evidence in horror.
