Ethan spent every day at her bedside, watching his daughter laugh and play with the mountain of toys Victoria had bought for her. Yet, a subtle mystery lingered in his mind. He couldn't shake the curiosity about the anonymous donor who had saved his daughter's life.

Ethan knew he shouldn't look, but an irresistible pull urged him forward. He picked up the file and opened it.
His eyes scanned the medical details until he reached the donor's signature at the bottom of the consent form.
The signature read: Victoria Elizabeth Vance.

Ethan froze. The date of the testing was three days after he had saved her from the river. She had quietly registered herself as a donor, undergone painful testing, and donated her own bone marrow to save his daughter.
The door behind him creaked open. Victoria stood there, holding two cups of tea. She saw the file in his hand and stopped.
