Chapter 13 - THE DONOR'S SECRET"You weren't supposed to see that," Victoria said softly, setting the cups on a small table.

Ethan looked at her, his emotion so intense he could barely speak. "You... you were the donor? Victoria... why didn't you tell me?"
Victoria walked over to him, her eyes soft and vulnerable. "Because I didn't want you to feel obligated to me, Ethan. You saved my life without expecting anything in return. I wanted to give you your daughter’s life back without you feeling like you owed me."
Ethan dropped the file and stepped toward her, pulling her into a tight, desperate embrace. "Owe you? Victoria, you gave me my whole world back!"
"You gave me a reason to live first," she whispered against his chest. "When I was on that bridge, I thought my life had no purpose. Saving Maya gave my life a meaning I never knew existed."
Ethan pulled back, framing her face with his hands. He looked at her with an intensity that made her breath catch. "I love you, Victoria. Not because of what you did for Maya, but because of who you are. I’ve loved you since the night you asked me to stay."

Victoria tears spilled over her eyelashes. "I love you too, Ethan. So much."
They kissed—a deep, passionate promise of a future built not on tragedy, but on hope and unspoken devotions.
