Chapter 11 - A LIGHT IN THE DARKTwo weeks passed in a agonizing limbo of hospital visits and waiting rooms. Victoria practically moved her executive office to the private lounge on the hospital’s oncology floor, refusing to leave Ethan’s side while running her multi-billion-dollar empire.

The bond between Ethan and Victoria deepened into something unbreakable. They were no longer two strangers connected by a river rescue; they were two souls tied together by shared pain and undeniable love.
On a rainy Tuesday afternoon, Dr. Evans walked into Maya’s room holding a blue folder. His face was unreadable.
Ethan stood up instantly, his body tense. "Doctor?"
Dr. Evans looked at Ethan, then at Victoria. "We received the results from the national registry database this morning."
Ethan held his breath, terrified of the answer.
"We found a match," Dr. Evans said, a small smile breaking across his tired face. "A perfect 10/10 HLA match."
Ethan collapsed back into his chair, covering his face as tears of pure relief overflowed. Victoria let out a joyous gasp, throwing her arms around Ethan and kissing his face repeatedly.
"Who is it?" Ethan sobbed. "Who is the donor? I need to thank them."

Dr. Evans glanced at Victoria with a mysterious smile. "The donor requested anonymity for now, but the procedure is scheduled for next Monday."
Victoria looked at Ethan, her eyes sparkling with tears of happiness. "She’s going to make it, Ethan. Maya’s going to live."
