Chapter 7 - The Safehouse Protocol|

"I need to go home, Mr. Moretti," Hannah begged softly, taking half a step backward toward the exit. "My sister... she's waiting for me at our apartment in Pilsen."
"Your apartment in Pilsen isn't safe anymore, Hannah," Luca said flatly.
"Why?"
"Because three minutes after Sophia ran into your arms in that ballroom," Luca revealed, pulling out his encrypted phone, "twenty people took video recordings on their phones. By now, Salvatore’s captains have seen the footage. They know the waitress from Harbor Lights is the witness from Ashwood Bridge."
Hannah's knees felt weak. She backed up until her spine hit the velvet wall paneling.
My sister, Clara," Hannah gasped out, panic surging through her blood. "She's nineteen! She has no idea about any of this!"
Luca turned to Rocco, who was standing near the door.
"Rocco," Luca commanded smoothly. "Take two squads to the apartment in Pilsen immediately. Bring Clara Carter to my estate in River Forest. If anyone tries to stop you, execute them."
"On it, Boss," Rocco bowed his head and vanished through the door.
Hannah stared at Luca, her heart hammering against her ribs like a trapped bird. "You're bringing my sister to your estate?"
"I am securing my witnesses," Luca corrected, taking a step toward her until his broad frame completely blocked the light from the chandeliers. "You saved my daughter's life three years ago, Hannah. Tonight, you gave her back her future. In my world, that makes you the most precious asset I possess."
"I'm not an asset, Mr. Moretti," she retorted, her chin lifting with sudden, unexpected bravery.

Luca offered a faint, dark smile—a sight that transformed his stern, terrifying face into something strikingly handsome.
"No," Luca whispered, reaching out with one large, calloused hand to gently tuck a loose red curl behind her ear. "You're not an asset, Hannah. You're my miracle."
