Luca leaned down and kissed her.
It was slow, deep, and heavy with three years of unspoken grief, sudden hope, and overwhelming passion. His lips claimed hers with a hard, possessive tenderness that swept away every remaining doubt in her soul.
Hannah let out a soft sigh against his mouth, her arms sliding up his broad chest, her fingers tangling into his short dark hair, pulling him closer.
Luca wrapped his broad arms around her waist, lifting her slightly off the hardwood floorboards, holding her small body against his frame as if she were the most precious treasure on earth.
When he finally broke the kiss, both of them were breathing heavily, their foreheads resting together under the amber desk lamp.
