Addie looked at him.

Ethan smiled.
“It means you care.”
He pointed toward the parade route.
“Do you know what happens when people are nervous?”
Addie shook her head.
“They remember the moment forever.”
Addie looked toward her father.
Daniel nodded.
Ethan stood.
Then he turned toward the parade chairman.
“If she doesn't lead the parade, I won't participate.”
The chairman looked shocked.
“You're one of our main guests.”
“Then remove me.”
The crowd erupted.
The chairman had a choice.
He could continue the parade without Ethan.
