Chapter 16 - THE DAY ETHAN RETURNEDTen years later, Ethan returned to the city.

He expected to see the same parade.
Instead, he saw something completely different.
Hundreds of people filled the street.
Children in wheelchairs.
Children with walkers.
Veterans.
Elderly people.
Families.
Everyone moving together.
At the front was Addie.
Now eighteen years old.
She was still in her decorated wheelchair.
But the blue ribbons had been replaced.
Now she had silver stars.
Just like the first day.
Ethan smiled.
Addie saw him.
“Mr. Walker!”
She rolled toward him.
“You came back.”
Ethan nodded.
“I wanted to see the parade car.”
Addie laughed.
May you like
“You mean me?”
“Yes.”
