Chapter 10 - THE LETTERThree days later, Addie received a letter.
It came from the city council.
They wanted her to attend a meeting.
Daniel was suspicious.
“Why do they want you there?”
Addie shrugged.
“I don't know.”
At the meeting, the parade chairman was present.
He looked uncomfortable.
The council president stood.
“We owe Addie an apology.”
The chairman slowly stood.
“I was wrong.”
Addie looked at him.
“Why did you say I couldn't join?”
The man hesitated.
Finally, he answered:
“Because I thought the parade had to look perfect.”
Addie tilted her head.
“Was I making it look bad?”
The room went silent.
May you like
The chairman looked down.
“No.”
