Chapter 3 - THE MAN WHO SAW HERAcross the street, a black SUV had stopped.

Inside sat Ethan Walker.
He was a former military officer and one of the most respected men in the city.
He had come to attend the parade as a guest.
But he wasn't watching the floats.
He was watching Addie.
He saw the way she carefully touched one of the silver stars on her wheelchair.
He saw her father trying to hide his anger.
And he saw the parade chairman walk away without looking back.
Ethan opened the car door.
His assistant looked at him.
“Where are you going?”
Ethan didn't answer.
He crossed the street.
Then stopped in front of Addie.
“That's a beautiful parade car.”
Addie looked up.
“Thank you.”
“Did you build it yourself?”
“With my dad.”
Ethan nodded.
“Then I think the parade is missing something.”
Addie looked confused.
“What?”
May you like
Ethan smiled.
“You.”
