Chapter 11 - THE OLD PARADE RULEThe city council discovered something.
The rule used to exclude Addie had been created years earlier.
It had never been officially written.
It was simply an old tradition.
And over time, people had treated tradition like law.
The council voted unanimously.
The parade would now include a new official section.
The Every Citizen Parade.
Anyone could participate.
No matter how they moved.
No matter what they looked like.
No matter how much money they had.
Addie was asked to become the first honorary leader.
She looked at her father.
“Can I?”
May you like
Daniel smiled.
“You already were.”
