Chapter 18 - The Legacy|

Two years later.

The Vescari estate was filled with the bright, joyful sound of laughter.

Two-year-old Elena ran across the green lawn, her dark curls bouncing in the sun as she chased a golden retriever puppy through the rose bushes.

Dominic walked out onto the terrace carrying two cups of coffee, setting one down on a glass table where Mara sat reviewing charitable foundation documents.

He sat beside her, wrapping his broad arm around her shoulders, pulling her close against his chest.

"The waterfront foundation cleared another ten million dollars today," Mara smiled, leaning her head against his shoulder. "We're opening three new children's clinics in South Bell Haven."

"Good," Dominic smiled, kissing her temple. "The city needs more clean places."

Rocco walked up the terrace steps, wearing a crisp dark suit, holding a leather folder. He stopped a respectful distance away, bowing his head.

"Boss," Rocco reported politely. "The dock union elections were finalized. Everything is quiet."

"Thank you, Rocco," Dominic nodded. "Take the afternoon off."

"Yes, Boss," Rocco smiled, bowing again before walking back toward the gates.

Dominic looked out over the sparkling blue bay where his ships moved peacefully across the water, then down at his daughter playing on the lawn.

The ruthless mafia Don who had once ruled through fear was now a man who ruled through honor, loyalty, and love.
