Chapter 14 - The Return Home|

Two weeks later.
The morning sun broke over the autumn trees of the Vescari estate in Bell Haven, casting a warm golden light across the rolling lawns and stone fountains.
A fleet of three black SUVs pulled up the long driveway.
Dominic stepped out of the lead vehicle, holding a warm blanket bundle securely against his broad chest.
Baby Elena slept peacefully inside the plush white wool, wearing a tiny pink hat.
Mara stepped out from the passenger side, wearing a soft cream cashmere sweater and trousers, her dark hair shining under the morning light. She looked healthy, radiant, and whole.
Dominic walked beside her up the wide marble steps of the estate.
The heavy oak doors opened.
Mrs. Gable, the head housekeeper, and the entire estate staff stood in the foyer, holding fresh flowers and warm smiles.
"Welcome home, Mrs. Vescari," Mrs. Gable said emotionally, bowing her head. "Welcome home, little Elena."
Mara smiled, tears of joy sparkling in her dark eyes as she took her daughter from Dominic’s arms, cradling her against her chest.

Dominic wrapped his broad arm around Mara’s waist, pulling her close against his side as they stepped through the threshold of their home together.
The house that had once been filled with silence and deceit was now filled with light and new life.
