Chapter 17 - The Renewal|

Six months later.
Spring had arrived in Bell Haven, painting the estate gardens in vibrant shades of pink, white, and emerald green.
On the cliffside terrace overlooking the sparkling blue bay, a small, private gathering was taking place under a white floral canopy.
There were no reporters, no syndicate captains, and no political allies—only twenty close friends, including Dr. Aris and the NICU nurses who had saved Elena’s life.
Mara stood under the canopy wearing a breathtaking white silk gown that fell in clean lines to her feet, holding a bouquet of white lilies.
Standing across from her was Dominic Vescari, wearing a tailored black tuxedo, his gray eyes completely filled with an absolute, unshakeable devotion.
Standing beside them was Mrs. Gable, holding seven-month-old Elena, who was giggling happily in a tiny white lace dress.
The priest smiled warmly at them. "Dominic, do you take Mara to be your lawfully wedded wife, to love and protect her, in sickness and in health, for as long as you both shall live?"
Dominic looked deep into Mara’s dark eyes, sliding a heavy platinum ring onto her left ring finger.
"I do," Dominic said, his voice steady as iron. "With all my heart and all my soul."
"And Mara, do you take Dominic?"
Mara smiled, tears of joy streaming down her cheeks as she slipped a matching platinum band onto his finger. "I do."

"I now pronounce you husband and wife again," the priest announced.
Dominic pulled Mara into his broad arms, lifting her off the stone terrace as he kissed her deeply under the warm spring sunshine.
