That evening, the estate was quiet.

In the newly decorated third-floor nursery, white cribs, soft plush teddy bears, and hand-painted murals of stars covered the walls.

Mara sat in a comfortable velvet rocking chair near the window, gently nursing Elena while the soft music of a lullaby box filled the warm room.

Dominic stood near the doorway, watching them in absolute silence. He had stripped off his suit jacket, wearing only his white shirt with the sleeves rolled up to his forearms.

Dominic walked over slowly, dropping to one knee beside her rocking chair, his hand gently touching his daughter's tiny dark head.

"I still can't believe she's here," Dominic whispered, his gray eyes shining with genuine emotion. "I spent five years thinking that power was built on territory and money. I was so wrong, Mara."

Mara reached out with her free hand, her fingers gently stroking his cheek.

"You defended us, Dominic," she said softly. "You cleaned the house."

"I will spend the rest of my life protecting you both," Dominic promised raspy, leaning up to press a tender kiss against Mara’s lips.
