Chapter 10 - Where Home BeginsOne year later.

The grand gardens of the Weston Estate were transformed into a breathtaking spring wedding venue. Sunbeams filtered through the oak trees, illuminating white flower arches and sparkling crystal chandeliers.
Laya walked down the aisle wearing an exquisite ivory lace gown, holding a bouquet of white peonies. Beside her walked little Maya, looking like a princess in a pink dress, tossing flower petals with a beaming smile.
At the altar stood Julian, looking impossibly handsome in a black tuxedo, his eyes shining with tears of gratitude as he watched his bride approach.
Walter stood beside him as his best man, leaning on his cane with a proud, happy smile.
The minister pronounced them husband and wife, and Julian pulled Laya into a passionate, loving kiss amidst cheers from their friends and family.
Later that night, as the party continued on the lawn, Julian led Laya into the quiet front driveway.
Parked under the golden porch light sat a brand-new, safely built SUV with a giant red ribbon on the hood—a gift from Walter and Julian to ensure Laya and Maya would never have to worry about broken cars in the rain again.
Laya laughed softly, leaning against Julian’s chest as his arms wrapped securely around her waist.
"Do you remember what you said to my father the night you found him?" Julian whispered into her ear.
"I told him to get dry," Laya smiled.

"And you brought warmth to our entire world," Julian replied softly, kissing her lips under the starlit sky. "Welcome home, my love."
