Chapter 22 - The RescueIn the dark, silent foundry, night-vision officers moved in swiftly and silently. Within moments, Richard was pinned to the metal railing, handcuffed before he could even process what was happening.
Alexander climbed the iron stairs and retrieved the velvet box from Richard’s shaking fingers.
"You lost everything because you let greed consume you, Richard," Alexander said quietly as officers dragged his cousin down the stairs.
As they stepped outside into the rain, Sarah stood by the police vehicle holding an umbrella. Alexander looked at her and smiled faintly. "Your psychological tip worked perfectly, Sarah."
