Chapter 13 - Caught in the ActThe loud crash of breaking glass drew the attention of nearby guests and security guards. The waiter turned and tried to bolt toward the kitchen exit, but Alexander’s security team tackled him to the floor within seconds.
A quick chemical test on the spilled champagne revealed a high dose of a powerful sedative—enough to cause severe medical complications for an elderly heart patient like Eleanor.
Under intense police questioning in a back room of the hotel, the terrified waiter cracked immediately. "I was paid! A man named Richard gave me ten thousand dollars to slip it into the old lady's drink!"
Alexander stood over the trembling waiter, his fist clenched so tightly his knuckles turned white.
