Chapter 7 - THE DOCTOR'S SECRETMichael found Dr. Reed.

The doctor was retired.
He lived alone.
At first, he refused to speak.
Then Michael showed him the medical records.
The old man lowered his head.
“I should have said something years ago.”
“What?”
“Your mother came to me.”
Michael's stomach tightened.
“She asked me to help your father.”
“Help him with what?”
“His anxiety.”
Dr. Reed explained that Margaret had claimed Robert was unstable.
She said he was becoming paranoid.
She asked for medication.
But later, Robert had contacted the doctor privately.
He had said the medication was making him sick.
He wanted it stopped.
Dr. Reed had agreed.
But before he could change the prescription, Robert died.
Michael's voice shook.
“Are you saying my mother poisoned him?”
“No.”
The doctor looked at him.
“I'm saying I don't know.”
That answer was worse.
