Chapter 11 - A New HorizonMonths passed, and the painful memory of that afternoon slowly receded beneath the warmth of new routines and family stability.

David balanced his corporate leadership responsibilities with being an entirely present, devoted father. They took weekend trips to the mountains, baked cookies in the newly remodeled kitchen, and spent quiet evenings reading together by the fireplace.
One crisp Saturday morning in October, while David was reviewing foundation paperwork on the back patio, Dr. Sarah Evans—who had continued to check in on Lily's psychological progress—stopped by for a scheduled family consultation.
After wrapping up her session with Lily in the sunroom, Sarah walked out onto the patio carrying a cup of coffee.
"She's doing remarkably well, David," Sarah smiled warmly, sitting in the patio chair opposite him. "Her resilience is truly inspiring."

Sarah chuckled softly, her hazel eyes sparkling in the autumn sunlight. "I only provided a compass, David. You built the ship."
