Chapter 8 - THE CHILDREN'S ROOMThe children's room was empty.

Crayons covered the floor.
The little dragon drawing remained unfinished.
But one child was missing.
Tommy.
Rodrigo's nephew.
Valeria's heart stopped.
"Where is Tommy?"
A babysitter began crying.
"He was here."
"When did he disappear?"
"During the blackout."
Adrian looked at the security cameras.
"Show me."
The footage appeared.
A shadow entered the room.
Then another.
A man bent down beside Tommy.
The screen froze.
Victor.
He carried the boy away.
Rodrigo rushed into the room.
"Where's Tommy?"
Valeria turned.
"Victor took him."
Rodrigo's face collapsed.
"What?"
Adrian looked at him.
"Did Victor know your nephew?"
Rodrigo shook his head.
"No."
"Think."
Rodrigo closed his eyes.
Then suddenly remembered.
"Victor asked me about my family."
Adrian's expression darkened.
"What exactly did he ask?"
"Whether my father was still alive."
Valeria stared at him.
"Why would he care?"
Rodrigo's face went pale.
Because another memory had returned.
Victor had asked him something else.
"Do you know where the old family records are?"
Rodrigo whispered.
Adrian stared at him.
"Which family records?"
Rodrigo looked at his sister.
"The Alcazar family archives."
Valeria felt a chill.
"What is in them?"
Rodrigo's father entered the room.
His face had gone completely white.
"Nothing."
Adrian turned toward him.
"You're lying."
The older man said nothing.
Adrian stepped closer.
"Where is the archive?"
The father finally whispered:
"Under the old house."
Valeria looked at Adrian.
"Your family had a secret archive too?"
Adrian's eyes were fixed on Rodrigo's father.
"Not my family."
The old man's face collapsed.
"Your mother."
The room went silent.
Adrian's voice became cold.
"What did my mother hide?"
Rodrigo's father looked toward the door.

Then whispered:
