Chapter 20 - An Unwritten Future|

I froze.

My heart stopped beating for a full three seconds as her words sank into my soul.

I looked down at her hand resting over her waist, then up at her dark, radiant eyes glowing with absolute love.

"Alina..." I breathed out, my voice completely cracking with an overwhelming, violent wave of joy. "Are you...?"

"We're having a baby, Dante," she laughed through her tears.

I dropped to my knees on the wooden balcony floor, throwing my arms around her waist, burying my face against her lap as tears of pure, unadulterated happiness spilled from my eyes.

A man who had built a multibillion-dollar empire, who had signed acquisitions across continents without a trembling hand, was now kneeling on a wooden floor, weeping like a child in his wife's arms.

The thirty-page divorce contract, the corporate wars, and the years of silent pain were completely gone—replaced by the warmth of a morning sun that would never set.

I pulled back, holding her face in my hands, kissing her lips, her cheeks, and her forehead with a fierce, eternal devotion.

"I love you, Alina," I whispered against her skin. "Forever."

"I know, Dante," she smiled, resting her hands over mine. "I always knew."

Far out on the blue water of Lake Geneva, The Alina glided peacefully across the gentle waves, steering toward an open, sunlit horizon that belonged entirely to us.
